Metcoke is made from low ash, low sulfur bituminous coal, with special coking properties. It is inserted into ovens and heated to 1000 ˚F to fuse fixed carbon and inherent ash and drive off most of the volatile matter. which is a soft, medium grade containing a high percentage of volatile components.
The low ash metallurgical coal (LAM COKE) hard coke is used in blast furnaces for the production of pig iron & in cupola furnaces for the production of cast iron. Application Area. Widely used in the manufacture of Silico Manganese, Pig Iron. Increase carbon content in steel manufacturing plants.
